soerasu.blogspot.com
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Eta made landfall Tuesday afternoon along the northeastern coast of Nicaragua. Winds were near 140 mph making it a category 4 hurricane.

Now that Eta is inland, the wind speeds are quickly dropping. Now a tropical storm with winds of 40 mph, Eta continues to bring catastrophic, life-threatening flash flooding and river flooding, along with landslides in areas of higher terrain of Central America.

Eta is expected to weaken and move westward through Central America over the next couple of days before taking a turn back to the northeast at the end of the week. Eta is expected to move back into the Caribbean Sea by Friday and then could intensify back into a tropical storm as it nears Cuba by the weekend. South Florida may experience impacts from Eta as early as Sunday.

Hurricane season officially ends on the last day of November.
