De Blasio: Anyone in category 1A eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccine - News 12 Bronx

Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Thursday that everyone in category 1A can be inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine.

Category 1A includes health care workers, home health aides, medical examiners and funeral workers and any high-risk public health worker.

The city is launching a site for those eligible to make appointments starting Thursday to get vaccinated.

"The key thing to remember is where you get to reservation, to be vaccinated, where do you get your appointment; you go to nyc.gov/vaccinelocations. This is the portal to get your appointment. Now we can go there to get appointments at a number of sites as we said, we started the week with 125 sites, will be up to about 160 or so by the end of the week," de Blasio said.

The site is set up in a three-step process to make those appointments.

First, one simply logs on to the site, where the locations are broken down by borough. So you will need to find that one that is closest to you, as well as the most convenient times for you to go.

Lastly, one can make the appointment by selecting the time and location slot.

There will also be a vaccination reservation call center that will launch on Monday for those that would rather call to make the appointment than make one online.
