Klaussner to exit outdoor category - Furniture Today

ASHEBORO, N.C. — Klaussner Home Furnishings will be exiting the outdoor category this year.

“With the demand COVID-19 has created, we have made the decision to exit the outdoor category and turn our attention to our core business,” said Terry McNew, Klaussner president and CEO. “The demand for our domestic upholstery, case goods and specialty bedding products continues to increase at unprecedented levels. Redeploying our assets from outdoor furniture to our core categories will help us support our valued retail partners.”

Klaussner originally entered the outdoor category in 2014, debuting its first line at the Chicago Casual Market. The category grew to more than 20 collections at one time — featuring seating, dining, fire pits and accessories — and was sold to outdoor specialty stores and traditional furniture stores across the country.

Klaussner employees will re-focus their efforts on existing divisions and product lines.

“We want to thank our retail partners for supporting our outdoor product line over the years,” said McNew. “We are committed to fulfilling all open orders and servicing dealers until all (existing outdoor) inventory is depleted.”
