PS5 Upgrade Label Doesn't Repeat Microsoft's Mistakes - VGR.com

soerasu.blogspot.com

Recently, Microsoft stirred up unintentional controversy with its “Optimized for Xbox Series X” logo. The logo received a ton of negative feedback because of how conspicuous it was. Now, we have had a chance to see Sony’s PS5 upgrade label on a PS4 game. And unlike Microsoft’s Xbox Series X logo, it isn’t obtrusive at all.

What the PS5 Upgrade Label Looks Like

The upgrade label turned up on the box art recently revealed with the preview of the Ubisoft game Immortals Fenix Rising. The box art is for the PS4 version of the game, and it has a label on it that says “PS5 Upgrade Available.” The label is at the bottom right near the age rating. It is nowhere near as obtrusive as the Xbox Series X logo, so players are not having the same negative reaction to it. Microsoft is still trouncing Sony when it comes to some important features like backwards compatibility. But at least Sony is winning in the logo design department?

PS4 Releases Required to be PS5 Compatible

Speaking of Ubisoft and next gen games, the company has decided to charge $60 for PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of its games—at least for now. That is lower than the $70 that many other companies will charge. Also, upgrading to the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions from the current console versions will be free. So, there are actually some games you can grab right now for $50 for your current console which you can then upgrade for free later, saving money.

This is an exciting time as we draw closer to the release of Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 this holiday season. To make sure you don’t miss a single update, follow our PlayStation news section closely over the weeks to come.
