EUGENE, Ore. – Lane County will be moving to the “lower risk” category on Friday, marking a continued decline in the number of COVID-19 cases, Gov. Kate Brown announced.
The state’s public health framework uses four risk levels for counties based on the spread of COVID-19. Effective for two weeks starting Friday there will be 14 counties in the “lower risk” category, 14 at “moderate risk” six at “high risk” and two counties in “extreme risk”.
The change means Lane County restaurants can continue offering indoor dining at 50 percent of their maximum occupancy and remain open until midnight, rather than 11 p.m. Restaurants are no longer limited to 100 people for indoor dining as long as they stay at 50 percent of capacity. Indoor and outdoor seating are both limited to eight people per table.
Gyms will also continue operating at 50 percent of their maximum occupancy, and are also not limited to 100 people if they stay at 50 percent of their maximum capacity. Indoor full-contact sports are still prohibited.
Indoor entertainment venues such as aquariums, indoor theaters and concert halls can also continue operating at 50 percent maximum occupancy level, with also no limit to group size. Closing time is will be midnight for these establishments.
Churches and other faith institutions can operate at 75 percent maximum occupancy, a change from previously when they were limited to 50 percent occupancy or 150 people total, whichever was smaller.
Outdoor recreation and fitness establishments such as outdoor gyms will move from 25 percent maximum occupancy to 50 percent maximum occupancy.
