Larimer County recorded 134 new COVID-19 cases Friday as the county moved from the medium-risk category back into high-risk.

The 134 newly reported cases since Thursday bring the total to 21,433, with 62% from Fort Collins, 22% from Loveland and the remaining cases from other towns across the county, according to the Larimer County Department of Health and Environment.

The youngest person in the new grouping is a 1-year-old Timnath girl, and the oldest is an 82-year-old Loveland woman.

No deaths from the coronavirus have been recorded since March 11, leaving the total since March 9, 2020, at 230.

Vaccine numbers continue to rise after a lull over the weekend because of the snowstorm. Total vaccines rose by nearly 2,000, reaching 133,376. Among those vaccinated, 22.8% have received at least their first dose, and 14.6% have received their second dose as well, with 64.5% of people 70 and older fully vaccinated.

The county rose into the high-risk category Friday with a 14-day prevalence of 231 cases per 100,000 residents and 173 new cases in the past 24 hours. Use of hospital beds and intensive care unit beds were in the medium category, with 70% hospital utilization and 72% ICU utilization.

However, the two-week positivity rate remained low at 3.7%, and only 25 patients were hospitalized in the county with the virus.
